What is vaping?

Vaping (using an e-cigarette) is an alternative to smoking, which doesn’t involve the tar or combustion involved in smoking tobacco.

A vaping device contains three main components:

  1. The battery device. Some vaping devices have built-in batteries that are charged via USB, others have batteries which can be removed and recharged with a specialist charger.
  2. The clearomiser or tank (which holds the e-liquid). This is usually made of glass or plastic and holds the e-liquid, and a coil that heats up the e-liquid that sits inside it.
  3. The e-liquid. The battery heats up the coil inside the tank, which causes the e-liquid to turn into a vapour which is then inhaled.
How much will it cost me to switch to vaping?

The set up costs for a starter kit will vary depending on the type you chose. After that, the running costs would be for e-liquid to refill your tank, and replacement coils. Coils will usually last approximately two weeks, depending on the type, and cost just a few pounds each. We will be able to help you choose the best type of device for your needs, and guide you through choosing the best liquids to get you started.

Switching from a 20-cigarette-per-day smoking habit to vaping could save up to £3350 per year.

What is in E-liquids?

E-liquid contain: propylene glycol, glycerine, flavourings and nicotine (when specified),. What goes into e-liquids made in the UK is heavily regulated, and we only sell products of the highest quality which comply with current regulations.

Are there different types of vaping?

There are two types of vaping - Mouth to lung (MTL) and direct lung (DL). MTL is similar to how you would smoke a cigarette whilst DL resembles smoking shisha.

Is my product authentic?

All the products sold on Vape Minds Superstore website are 100% authentic. For hardware, most brands that we distribute also have a scratch-off verification code (sometimes called "Scratch & Verify") which you can use to verify that products from our website are genuine. It's not a legal requirement; therefore not all products have the code.

Why is e-liquid coming out of the tank and going in my mouth?

If the coil is over saturated the excess e-liquid within the atomiser may flood the tank and you could end up with droplets of liquid on your lips / in your mouth. If you get e-liquid in your mouth, it is advised to rinse your mouth out with plenty of water.

Do e-cigarettes and e-liquids produce a smell?

Yes, the vapour can leave a small amount of smell depending on the e-liquid and type of device. Some smells can be pleasant to you but not to others, so please take this into consideration if you are using the electronic cigarette in confined spaces.

What are the positive of smoking electronic cigarettes over tobacco based cigarettes?

Tobacco based cigarettes contain a combination of up to 4000 chemicals which, can include carbon monoxide, arsenic and tar. E-Cigarettes DON'T!

How do I know when the Coil needs changing or how long does it last?

There are a number of signals, which indicate the Coil needs to be changed. Vapour volume will decrease though there may still be some visible vapour present, but the flavour will change and result in the loss of nicotine delivery sensation. The flavour may become slightly bitter when depleted. Always make sure your battery is charged sufficiently before changing the filter. An undercharged battery can also lead to loss of vapour.

What are the ingredients in the cartomizer/refills/tips?

The liquid in all E-Liquids is made up of tobacco/Artificial extract flavouring, liquid-nicotine (when ordered), vegetable and propylene glycol.

Why do you use vegetable & propylene glycol?

We feel that using these substances would be a preferred choice for our customers and it gives the best vape experience.

What is vegetable glycol and is it harmful to me?

It's a carbohydrate that is normally sourced from plant oils. Vegetable glycol can be found in toothpaste for example.

How is the vapour made?

When air is drawn into the chamber prior to passing through the nicotine cartridge of the electronic cigarette which combines the heated air and nicotine to give you the same feeling as smoking. The vapour tastes and feels just like the smoke from a normal cigarette.

Does the vapour smell or leave a smell in the air?

The vapour is odourless and dissipates within seconds. It doesn't linger unlike cigarette smoke. It doesn't give you 'smokers breath' or leave your hands and clothes smelling of cigarettes either.

Can I Smoke E-Cigs anywhere?

As electronic cigarettes do not fall under the 'public smoking ban' theoretically yes you can. However at the discretion of the venue you are in.

How long does it take to recharge a Kit?

Every E-Cig usually comes with some charge, however when your rechargeable version needs a top up, this can normally be achieved in approximately 2-3 hours (depending on the kit)

What are the TPD Regulations

As you may be aware the Electronic Cigarette industry, since May 20th, is regulated in the UK and across Europe. We now fall under The Tobacco Products Directive (TPD), which is an updated version of the EU Directive. The main reason for these regulations is to promote product safety and to ensure consumers aware that they are purchasing products that contain nicotine. In addition to this, the regulations are in place to ensure that only people over 18+ are purchasing and using e-cigarettes and e-cigarette related products. Some of the effects that this has on the consumer are as follows: Any E-liquid that contains Nicotine may only be sold in 10ml, child proof and unbreakable bottles. The max capacity of a Tank is 2ml. The tank must comply with further regulations and have apropiate warning labels on them. Nicotine amount is now restricted to a max level of 20mg/ml Further information regarding the regulations can be found on the Goverment website.
